Bangkok's Wholesale Fashion Capital
Pratunam is Bangkok's wholesale fashion district — a chaotic, colorful labyrinth of clothing stalls, fabric shops, and accessory vendors. Platinum Fashion Mall and Pratunam Market attract buyers from across Southeast Asia. It's not glamorous, but the energy is infectious. Budget hotels, excellent Indian food (Little India at Phahurat is adjacent), and some of Bangkok's cheapest accommodation make it popular with savvy travelers.
Pratunam has some of Bangkok's best budget food. The legendary Kuay Teow Kha Moo Pratunam (pork leg rice) and excellent Indian food at nearby Phahurat. Baiyoke Sky Hotel buffet for views.
Not a nightlife destination. A few hotel bars and Baiyoke Sky's revolving restaurant/bar for sunset views, but most visitors come for daytime shopping.
BTS Ratchathewi is closest, or walk from Siam. Airport Rail Link Ratchaprarop station is convenient for Suvarnabhumi flights. Very congested traffic — avoid taxis during peak hours.
