Baiyoke Tower II
88-story skyscraper with revolving observation deck and buffet restaurant.
Baiyoke Tower II is an 88-story skyscraper that held the title of Thailand's tallest building for nearly two decades before being surpassed by Mahanakhon in 2016. Standing 304 meters tall in the heart of Bangkok's Pratunam garment district, it offers two observation decks including a revolving rooftop platform and a popular buffet restaurant, all at prices significantly lower than its newer competitor. ## Observation Decks The 77th floor houses an indoor observation deck with floor-to-ceiling windows providing panoramic city views. The 84th floor features a revolving outdoor observation platform — the slowly rotating rooftop gives you a complete 360-degree view without having to walk around. On clear days, you can see the green expanses of Bang Krachao to the south and the mountains of Kanchanaburi province to the west. The outdoor deck gives a grittier, more authentic Bangkok panorama compared to Mahanakhon's polished experience. ## The Buffet The 81st and 82nd floors host the Baiyoke Sky Hotel buffet restaurant, a popular option that combines dining with skyline views. The international buffet includes Thai, Japanese, and Western dishes. Lunch is the best value. Buffet packages that include observation deck access offer good combined pricing. ## The Pratunam Experience Half the fun of visiting Baiyoke Tower is its location in Pratunam, Bangkok's most frenetic wholesale garment district. The streets surrounding the tower are packed with clothing stalls, wholesale markets, and some of Bangkok's best street food. Pratunam Market and Platinum Fashion Mall are within walking distance. The contrast between the elevated serenity of the observation deck and the chaotic streets below is quintessentially Bangkok. ## Best Time to Visit Sunset visits between 17:30 and 18:30 offer the best experience as the city transitions from daylight to illuminated nightscape. Book the buffet for sunset timing if possible. The observation decks are less crowded on weekday afternoons. ## How to Get There The tower is a 10-minute walk from BTS Ratchathewi station. From Pratunam intersection, walk south on Ratchaprarop Road. Airport Rail Link Ratchaprarop station is also nearby. The area is well-served by buses. ## Nearby Attractions Pratunam Market and Platinum Fashion Mall are immediate neighbors. Pantip Plaza (electronics) is a short walk. CentralWorld is about 10 minutes on foot. Victory Monument and its boat noodle stalls are one BTS stop away.
