Rooftop Bars & Sky Dining — Bangkok

    Rooftop Bars & Sky Dining

Sip cocktails above the Bangkok skyline — the world's best rooftop scene

Bangkok's rooftop bar scene is arguably the finest on the planet. Perched dozens of floors above the sprawling metropolis, these sky-high venues serve craft cocktails alongside panoramic views of glittering skyscrapers, the winding Chao Phraya River, and sunsets that paint the horizon in shades of amber and violet. The tradition took off in the early 2000s when Sirocco at Lebua State Tower became the world's highest open-air restaurant, later immortalized in The Hangover Part II. Today, the city boasts more than fifty rooftop bars spanning everything from ultra-luxe champagne lounges on Sathorn Road to laid-back craft-beer terraces in Thonglor and Ekkamai.

Most rooftop bars enforce a smart-casual dress code — closed-toe shoes for men, no tank tops or flip-flops — so plan your outfit before heading out. Arrive thirty minutes before sunset, typically around 6:00–6:30 PM, to claim the best seats without a reservation. Cocktail prices range from 350 to 700 baht depending on the venue, and many bars offer happy-hour specials between 5:00 and 7:00 PM. The cool season from November through February delivers the clearest skies and most comfortable temperatures, making it the ideal time to experience Bangkok from above.
