SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World is Southeast Asia's largest aquarium, occupying 10,000 square meters beneath the floors of Siam Paragon shopping mall in the heart of Bangkok. Home to over 30,000 marine creatures from 400 species, the aquarium offers an immersive underwater journey through themed zones that transport visitors from tropical rainforests to the deep ocean. ## Zones and Exhibits The aquarium is divided into seven themed zones. The Rainforest zone features piranha, giant otters, and tropical freshwater species. The Rocky Shore and Open Ocean zones showcase sea turtles, rays, and the star attraction — sand tiger sharks gliding through a massive walk-through tunnel. The Deep Reef zone houses colorful coral species and seahorses. The Sea Jellies zone presents mesmerizing jellyfish in illuminated tanks. The Penguin Ice Adventure brings Gentoo and Rockhopper penguins to tropical Bangkok. ## Interactive Experiences Beyond standard viewing, the aquarium offers several special experiences. Glass-bottom boat rides float visitors over the main tank for a unique aerial perspective. The 4D cinema combines a short film with motion seats and special effects. A behind-the-scenes tour explains feeding routines and conservation programs. For certified divers, an ocean walker experience and shark dive are available at additional cost. ## For Families The aquarium is one of Bangkok's best family attractions, with touch pools where children can handle sea stars and horseshoe crabs, feeding demonstrations throughout the day, and educational programs. The entire facility is air-conditioned, making it a perfect escape from Bangkok's heat. Plan at least two to three hours for a thorough visit. ## Best Time to Visit Weekday mornings right at opening (10:00) have the shortest queues and smallest crowds. Weekend afternoons are most congested. Purchase tickets online for discounts of up to 30% and to skip the ticket queue. Check the daily feeding schedule at the entrance to time your visit around the most exciting feeding demonstrations. ## How to Get There The aquarium is in the basement of Siam Paragon mall, directly connected to BTS Siam station. Follow signs within the mall to the basement level. The entrance is well signposted. ## Nearby Attractions Siam Paragon itself offers extensive shopping and dining. The Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) is across the intersection. Madame Tussauds is in neighboring Siam Discovery. Jim Thompson House is a short walk west. CentralWorld is one block east.
