Mahanakhon SkyWalk
Thailand's tallest building with a glass-floor observation deck at 314 meters.
King Power Mahanakhon SkyWalk sits atop Bangkok's most architecturally striking building — the 314-meter pixelated skyscraper designed by Ole Scheeren that reshapes the Bangkok skyline with its spiraling cutaway facade. The observation deck on the 78th floor features Thailand's highest glass-floor walkway, offering a vertigo-inducing view straight down to the streets below and panoramic vistas stretching to the horizon in every direction. ## The Glass Tray Experience The highlight is stepping onto the glass-floor observation platform that extends beyond the edge of the building at 310 meters. The transparent floor reveals the dizzying drop below your feet while you stand surrounded by 360-degree views of Bangkok. It is not for the faint of heart, but even nervous visitors find the experience exhilarating. The outdoor rooftop area on the 78th floor is the highest open-air observation deck in Thailand. ## Indoor Observatory The 74th floor features an indoor observation area with interactive digital displays, augmented reality telescopes, and informative panels identifying landmarks visible from the windows. This floor is fully air-conditioned and provides a comfortable environment for those who prefer to admire the view from behind glass. ## The Rooftop Bar The 76th floor houses a rooftop bar serving craft cocktails and light bites with unobstructed views. It is one of Bangkok's premier sunset spots, and the bar stays open late, making it perfect for nighttime cityscape photography. Smart casual dress code applies — no shorts or sandals in the evening. ## Best Time to Visit Sunset is the prime time — arrive around 17:00 to 17:30 to see the city transition from golden daylight to a twinkling carpet of lights. Clear days offer views extending well beyond the city limits. The late-night slot from 22:00 onward is peaceful with short queues. ## How to Get There The building connects directly to BTS Chong Nonsi station via a skywalk, making access effortless. Simply follow the signs from the station to the King Power Mahanakhon building and take the dedicated elevator to the observation levels. ## Nearby Attractions Sathorn Road is one of Bangkok's main business and dining corridors. Lumpini Park is a short taxi ride north. The Chao Phraya River and its riverside attractions are accessible via BTS Saphan Taksin, one stop south. W District community market and numerous rooftop bars dot the Sathorn-Silom area.
