ICONSIAM is Bangkok's most ambitious retail and lifestyle destination, a massive riverside complex that has redefined luxury shopping in Thailand since its opening in 2018. Stretching along 800 meters of the Chao Phraya River's western bank in the Thonburi district, the complex houses over 500 stores, an indoor floating market, Thailand's first Apple Store, and multimedia water features that rival the Bellagio fountains. ## SookSiam Indoor Floating Market The ground floor hosts SookSiam, a spectacular indoor recreation of a Thai floating market and village. Vendors from all 77 Thai provinces sell regional specialties — from Isaan som tam to southern curries, northern sai ua sausage to eastern desserts. Traditional crafts, textiles, and demonstrations fill the space. A waterway runs through the floor, and the entire experience is air-conditioned, making it accessible to visitors who cannot make the trek to Damnoen Saduak. ## Shopping and Dining The mall houses international luxury brands alongside Thai designers. ICONLUXE features Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermès, and other high-end boutiques. The upper floors contain a mix of mid-range brands, electronics, and lifestyle stores. Dining options span from Michelin-starred restaurants to affordable food courts. The riverside terrace restaurants offer stunning views of the river and Bangkok skyline. ## Multimedia Water and Light Show Every evening, ICONSIAM's riverside terrace hosts a spectacular water fountain show with synchronized lights and music. The ICONIC Multimedia Water Features is Southeast Asia's longest water-and-light show, running about 150 meters along the river. Check the schedule at the information desk — shows typically run at 18:30 and 20:00. ## Best Time to Visit Weekday mornings are quietest for shopping. Visit in the evening to enjoy the water fountain show and riverside dining with illuminated temple views across the river. Weekend afternoons are packed with local families. ## How to Get There ICONSIAM operates free shuttle boats from Sathorn pier (BTS Saphan Taksin) every 15 minutes. The Gold Line monorail from BTS Krung Thon Buri also connects to the complex. By road, taxis can access the dedicated drop-off area, but riverside traffic can be congested. ## Nearby Attractions Wat Arun is visible across the river and reachable by a short boat ride. The Thonburi side of the river offers quieter canal exploration. Asiatique The Riverfront is a short distance south along the river. The Royal Barges National Museum is nearby.
