Bangkok wins: BTS/MRT, international airport, world-class healthcare, unlimited entertainment. Chiang Mai relies on songthaews and Grab.
Social
Bangkok: Larger, more diverse, better nightlife. Chiang Mai: More intimate, deeper friendships, cozy.
Climate
Chiang Mai cooler Nov-Feb (15-25C). But burning season Feb-Apr creates hazardous air (AQI 200+). Bangkok has milder pollution.
Verdict
Bangkok for: infrastructure, nightlife, airport, diversity. Chiang Mai for: cost, community, nature, cooler weather.
